Welcome to Story Focused Life
I’m glad you have found your way to my small corner of the internet. This blog has the simple goal of pursuing truth in the areas of storytelling, the Holy Spirit, and being a person of prayer. But what does that really mean?
To understand where I am coming from you should know a little bit about me. My name’s Kevin, and I’ve been actively studying the art of storytelling since 2010. My emphasis in this field focuses on the areas of novel writing and blogging, but those are a microcosm of the broader understanding that is storytelling.
From 2010 to 2013 I intensely studied my craft, but there were many things lacking. Then I met the amazing girl who would eventually become my wife. After just a few months of knowing her, I began witnessing the positive effects on someone’s life when they pray to God regarding all of their major decisions. But I wasn’t done learning. I still wasn’t fully open to the present day power of the Holy Spirit and His work in our lives. I wasn’t utilizing this knowledge of prayer which was exemplified in my wife.
Over the course of a couple of years, the Holy Spirit started working in my life through various difficulties and frustrations regarding how I thought my life should go. Thanks to God’s grace I got one thing right during that time- I married the amazing person who I proudly call my wife. This time period created many opportunities, both life altering decisions as well as day to day choices, which ended up bringing me to my knees in prayer. This persistent prayer combined with a growing knowledge of the Holy Spirit brought me to where I am today. But this is only a part of my story, and it doesn’t even include any details about the awe-inspiring work of the Holy Spirit and how He has guided my life through this journey.
So that’s where this blog comes in. On this site you’ll see:
- The beauties of storytelling as it weaves in and out of our lives
- The amazing things I learn from the Holy Spirit’s guidance and those he has placed in my life
- The daily, powerful, life-altering presence of prayer in an individual’s life
